Frontier Command

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Most RTS games on phones feel like they're fighting the format. Frontier Command doesn't. It gives you a compact map, a handful of unit types, and clever radial menus so you're never hunting for a button mid-battle.

You build, scout, and push across short skirmish maps that usually wrap up in ten to fifteen minutes. That length is perfect for mobile — long enough to feel strategic, short enough to finish on a lunch break. The AI plays fairly aggressively, so turtling rarely works.

I wish there were more unit variety at the top end, but the skirmish campaign and the asynchronous multiplayer kept me busy for weeks. It respects your time and your intelligence.
